Keyaki Japanese Restaurant provides an authentic Japanese cuisine and has become the first choice for people to enjoy Japanese dining since the first time it is open. The restaurant has started to operate at the same time Sari Pan Pacific Jakarta open, in 1976. For more than 40 years old, Keyaki become one of the long-standing authentic Japanese restaurants in town.

Those who have been around since its inception may recall the restaurant being born as Furusato, before changing its name to the present one in 1987. This is a restaurant that manages to stand the test of time extremely well, and amidst the waves of fusion-themed competitors in town, it stays true to its concept of serving classic Japanese delights.

This fine Japanese restaurant has officially won the hearts of the city as they were awarded by NOW! Jakarta, a leading lifestyle magazine for the international community in Jakarta, as the “Best Single Japanese Restaurant in 2017” earlier on September.

On 18 October 2017, Keyaki Japanese Restaurant launches new menu selections and invites local food bloggers and media to experience this new dishes exquisitely crafted by our chef, Masami Okamoto and team.

For starters, Keyaki comes up with 3 different selections, Salmon Taru-taru Shooter, Foie Grass Masu Sushi and Hiyashi Tomato & Beef Tataki. Foie Grass Masu Sushi became the highlight amongst all. Beautifully presented in a small wooden MASU box, lies beneath is sushio rice with a lightly grilled duck liver and Teriyaki sauce for dipping.

Bigger thing than appetizer will definitely take you to another side of Japanese heaven. Yasai Tonpei Yaki, Cold Fish & Chip Keyaki Style, Sakura Sashimi Moriawase, Robata Mariawase, you name it. All of them are surely the greatest buddies your tummy could ever have. All the sashimi fans out there would totally dig the big time fresh and raw Sakura Sashimi Moriawase which consists of 8 kinds of lobster, Toro and Botan shrimp. Little touches, like a garnish of radish and red ginger slices show an impressive level of attention to detail.

Cooked cuisine also trumps the lineup of Keyaki’s new menu items. Introducing you, Robata Moriawase. A mix of grilled king crab, scallop and cod fish altogether in a huge bowl of hot Miso soup, mushroom and ginko nuts serves as sides along with Robata spicy sauce, perfect match for this rainy season.

Last to end this beautiful lunch of course a yes for Tempura Ice Cream. Tempura with vanilla ice creams, chocolate sauce, mix berry and mints leaf. Crunchy smooth yet soft cold served ice cream will pleased you till your last bite.

My personal preference from this new menus of course the Salmon Taru-taru Shooter from appetizer, and both of the moriawase; Sakura Sashimi Moriawase, Robata Mariawase. Definitely a comeback to this authentic place. What about you?
